It provides an overview of the current state of myeloma care in Zimbabwe and South Africa, highlighting the issues of late presentation, limited access to optimal supportive care, and the high early mortality rate. Insights are also given on the impact of HIV on myeloma patients, noting that HIV-positive patients tend to be younger and present with different clinical features compared to HIV-negative patients.
