Dr Johnathan Watts, BLOODSA’s Head of Outreach and Implementation, recently visited the Bugando Cancer Centre, a tertiary level Oncology centre located in Mwanza, Tanzania, under the leadership of Dr Nestory Masalu.
The purpose of the visit was to foster working relationships between BLOODSA and Bugado Cancer Center. The visit involved a series of in-person meetings between Dr Watts and key members of the Centre, including Dr Masalu, Dr Heronima Joas, and several individuals from the clinical support team.
This visit represents an important initial step in discussions between BLOODSA and Bugando Cancer Centre and will shape future collaboration. It is also a first step towards the possible implementation of the BLOODSA Haematological Registry at the Centre.
BLOODSA views the relationship with Bugando Cancer Centre and similar centres, who make a tangible difference in patients’ lives, as critical partnerships in its mission to improve haematological patient care and data management across Sub-Saharan Africa.
